Part of the Brewing Beer In The Buckeye State series, Brewing Beer In The Ohio Valley gives a pictorial history of the breweries that lined the northern shore of the Ohio River from 1815 to the present. These varied from small, glorified home breweries in the 19th century to large, full scale beer factories in later years. Prominent breweries operated in East Liverpool, Steubenville, Martins Ferry, Bellaire, Marietta, Pomeroy, Ironton, and Portsmouth. This book is complimented by the Brewing Beer In The Queen City series that covers Cincinnati's extensive brewing industry, and will later be complimented by Brewing Beer In The Mountain State, covering breweries south of the river in West Virginia. The spiral-bound book contains 420 images of people, buildings, floor plans, labels, signs, and you-name-it (most in color) to help tell the story.
